Adolf Hitler's Life
Hitler had five siblings, however four died at childhood. Those children were Gustav, Otto, Ida, and Edmund. His only sibling who survived childhood was Paula (1896-1960). He also had two step siblings, Alois and Angela. His dad was married three times. His parents were Alois and Klara Hitler. Alois, Adolf's dad, died when Adolf was just 13. Believe it or not, Hitler actually dreamed of becoming an artist. He applied to Vienna the academy of art twice but was denied both times. He applied in 1907 and 1908. Hitler's mom died at the end of 1908 from breast cancer. After his mom's death, he spent his life on the streets of Vienna selling postcards with his artwork on them to raise money. In 1913, he served and survived 4 years of World War II for Germany. After he returned to Munich and was determined to enter politics. In 1919 he joined a party called the German Worker's Party. Soon after, he became the leader of the party. The club name was changed to The Nazi Party in 1920. Hitler made more and more speeches and other things and gained followers. In 1923 he attempted to take over the party, when it failed, he got caught and was sentenced to 5 years of prison. After only 9 months, Hitler was released. Over the next few years, he was announced dictator of Germany. In 1944 Hitler barely avoided an attempt of assassination. There was a bomb under a table he was sitting at during a meeting, but he survived with only some arm injuries and some hearing loss. In 1945 April 29 he married Eva Braun, his long-time mistress. The next day, they committed suicide together.
